MEASURED STEPS TOOLS

Labor Productivity Calculator

Explore how improved productivity could release labor capacity. Compare your current performance with a target at the same weekly volume.

Your operation

Use the same unit throughout: orders, cases, lines, or units. Current and target rates must cover the same work and labor scope. The starting values are examples.

Include wages, employer payroll taxes, and benefits as appropriate.

Weekly opportunity

Enter your figures and select Calculate opportunity.

Capacity released is not guaranteed cash savings. Financial savings depend on actual changes in overtime, staffing, or other spending. This estimate excludes implementation costs and assumes unchanged volume, work mix, and service quality.

How the calculation works

Labor hours = weekly volume ÷ units per labor hour.

Capacity released = current labor hours − target labor hours.

Capacity value = hours released × fully loaded hourly labor cost.
